May 29, 2025: It is with deep regret and sadness that, our friend and colleague, William "Bill" Plunkett has passed.  Bill was a vibrant and pivotal figure in the early years of Western Pennsylvania EMS and was an active and contributing member of CC4EMS.  He will be sorely missed.  Please keep Bill and his family in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.  Godspeed, our dear friend.

We are Citizens Concerned for Emergency Medical Services (CC4EMS) and we thank you for visiting our site. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) throughout the United States is in a critical state with ambulance organizations closing their doors at an alarming rate. This is due to many factors including insufficient funding, retention of quality employees, lack of EMTs and Paramedics entering the workforce, inadequate community support and more. The repercussions from these closures are many including extended response times and sadly, loss of life.

CC4EMS was formed to engage with individuals and organizations allowing us to continue to obtain insights on how our website can provide information and suggest solutions to these challenging dilemmas.
